Mexico City Restaurant

Hey there Angels~Carne Asada and Beef tacos is in minimalist form at our beloved Mexico City Restaurant. A few ounces of thinly sliced;charbroiled sirloin (asada) is wrapped into a corn tortilla. Shredded strings of beef nestle in a red chile sauce to keep its form within a warmed corn tortilla. Accompanying our taco companions were Mexican rice and savory refried pintos. A tablespoon of guacamole;chopped white onion; and cilantro accented the plate in stainless steel ramekins. The much preferred Asada taco held its flavor. The essence of a charbroiled grille penetrated the sirloin and satiated my hunger. C favored the beef tacos, commenting about the deep red earthy taste of the beef sauce union. Along with the meal, one is promptly joined by a red and green salsa combo to compliment the fried tortilla chips of average appeal and light texture. The zesty red roasted salsa is deep and rich. The green tomatillo salsa is very refreshing and cool with almost a feeling of mint in your mouth. The spice of the heat catches you by surprise the way wasabi or even horseradish does... its great over the beans and rice and quacamole-- oh myyyy, its just the right tang, and perfect topping on the tacos. I prefer the salsa rojo. C adores the green tomatillo unexpected rush of cool to bite on the back end. In sum, thoughtful flavors and definitely more tortilla than meat in the taco, which could be good if you want room to stuff the rest of your taco with all the extras. The chile rellenos rock! Check out the rest of the menu. xooxxood&c
